Day 3, Wednesday, July 6
Today we went to Coleman Young Community Center to participate in a day camp for children ages 3-12.  Our group split between the 3-5 year olds and the 6-12 year olds.  In the younger group there was arts and crafts, games and dance.  The older group went to the playground, played kickball and practiced archery.  At first it felt foreign to be in a camp where the campers were told not to steal and to respect the adults, but the children were welcoming and excited to be with us.  In the end no one wanted us to leave.  It was nice to see a facility where for a very small yearly fee the community can experience swimming, gyms, playgrounds and computers.
