Culture is something that you just can’t put a label on, and that’s a good thing, because as justice-seekers, we have to be careful about putting labels on people. One thing I’d like to learn about the many cultures representing Detroit is how they all get along. I’d like to learn about the relationships between Christians and Muslims, the many different races, and how folks were able to deal with the problems of the major auto manufacturers. I pray that during this journey, I’ll learn a lot about the cultures of Detroit and meet and talk with the people of Detroit. I’d like to hear some stories of faith, survival and joy. And I can’t wait to get there!
