As our team of youth and adults prepares to go on this summer’s servant trip to Detroit, they will be blogging about their experiences.  To view other posts from the Detroit Team, click here: http://www.sepayouth.org/category/detroit-blog/.

Hello everyone! My name is Veronica Britto and I’m a member of St. Peter’s in Northwest Philadelphia. I’m a Children’s Librarian during my workday, and on nights and weekends I love spending time with my nieces and learning to play with the Wii and Xbox. My favorite Bible verse right now is found in Proverbs 16:24 “Pleasant words are like a honeycomb, sweetness to the soul and health to the bones.” You may have heard the saying, “sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me.” But the truth is – words do hurt, they weaken souls and place stress on our physiques. This truth is one of the reasons why I agreed to be the co-leader for the Detroit Servant Trip. Our theme for the trip is “Voices that Challenge.” As Christ’s followers, we are called to be that voice – in Detroit, and right here in Southeastern PA. Stay tuned to this blog for more insights as we approach this awesome sojourn!
